As a physical educator I also ask the teachers I speak with this common question: “If our mandate as PE teachers is to provide physical activity opportunities to students, what does that do to the rigor of our profession? How does this differ from recreational services? If we are to focus on enabling physical activity in youth, what happens when the PE teacher is removed? Josh- This is great point. I think it is important for us to think about "Physical Literacy" and "Health Literacy," together and how that is embedded into our Physical Education curricula.
